Mora et al. v. Calumet City, et al.: Obtained $4.5 million dollar jury verdict in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois against city Mayor and City for wrongfully terminating four police officers who opposed Mayor’s election efforts in violation of their constitutional civil rights.

Hudalla v. Hunter Alliance, et al: Obtained $3+ million jury verdict for claims brought in the Illinois Circuit Court of Cook County for former employee of large Chicago real estate developer who was terminated for false reasons related to his work on multi-million dollar commercial and residential construction projects.

Kuzma v. Clarage, et al.: Obtained $2.2 million jury verdict for claims brought in the Illinois Circuit Court of Will County for attorney who was falsely accused by bank executives of extorting bribes from real estate developer seeking to build multi-million dollar resort in central Illinois.

Pilota et al. v. Ciambrone, et al.: Obtained $700,000 + jury verdict and reinstatement for four City employees (three of whom worked in the police department as Captain and Detective) brought in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois who alleged the Mayor and City took adverse employment actions in violation of their constitutional civil rights.

Hogan v. Department of Justice: Obtained reinstatement and monetary damages for a federal prosecutor employed at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois, who was terminated based upon three federal judicial opinions that wrongly concluded he had fraudulently obtained federal criminal convictions against members of notorious Chicago gang members.

United States ex rel. Hudalla v. Walsh Construction Co.: Obtained multi-million dollar settlement under the False Claims Act following multi-year investigation and litigation into alleged fraudulent billing practices on twelve separate federal housing projects brought in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Geraty v. the Village of Antioch: Obtained jury verdict, $250,000 in compensatory damages, and instatement in Title VII claims brought in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois for female police officer who asserted she was denied reassignment to Detective and promotion to Sergeant because she was a woman.

Astor v. Runnfeldt: Obtained $600,000 jury verdict in claims brought in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois for securities fraud against attorney, accountant and business broker in connection with sale of limousine business to car leasing company.

Steadman et al. v. Browner et al.: Obtained successful defense jury verdict in multiple plaintiff, multiple count employment discrimination and retaliation case in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Boehl v. the City of Chicago Heights: Defended municipality in civil claims brought in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois by former employee who alleged he was wrongfully terminated in violation of his constitutional civil rights.

Kantner v. M&G Printing:   Defended private corporation in civil claims brought in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois by former employee who alleged he was wrongfully terminated in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Laureate, Inc. v. Megahed et al.:  Defended university president in civil claims brought in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland and the Northern District of Illinois who was accused of electronic theft of trade secret and proprietary information in federal district court.

Deloitte & Touche v. Carlson, et al.:  Defended departing employees in civil claims brought in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois who were accused of corporate fraud and electronic theft of trade secret and proprietary information.

Motorola Inc. v. VCI:  Obtained multi-million dollar settlement on behalf of publicly traded company in New York state court proceeding involving the nation-wide sale of counterfeit parts used in the manufacturing of electronic automotive parts.

Bridges v. McDonald’s Corp.:  Obtained confidential settlement on behalf of executive employee who alleged violations of the Sarbanes Oxley Act and its whistle-blower retaliation provisions, including alleged fraud schemes by defendant in publishing its annual proxy statement to shareholders. 

Curcio v. VasSol, Inc., et al.:  Obtained confidential settlement on behalf of former CEO who alleged retaliatory, pre-textual, and defamatory termination.

United States v. Anonymous Corporation:  Investigated and prosecuted corporate commercial fraud schemes in violation of federal False Claims Act against the United States, concluding in pre-indictment resolution. 

Fendley v. Prime Real Estate, et al.: Obtained confidential settlement on behalf of former Vice President who alleged retaliatory, pre-textual, and defamatory termination.

Stech v. Panera Bread Co.: Obtained confidential settlement on behalf of former employee who alleged unlawful age discrimination and retaliatory termination claims in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

White-Janes v. Chicago Board of Education: Obtained confidential settlement on behalf of tenured teacher who alleged unlawful age discrimination claims in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Fisher v. Best Buy Co.: Obtained confidential settlement on behalf of former employee who alleged unlawful retaliatory discharge claims in the Circuit Court for Cook County, Illinois.

Oleszewski v. ComEd.:  Obtained confidential settlement on behalf of former employee who alleged unlawful retaliatory discharge claims in the Circuit Court for Cook County, Illinois.

Noncek v. Bank One Corporation: Obtained confidential settlement on behalf of former employee who alleged claims in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois that defendant violated federal law by terminating him under false pretenses.

ALPA v. FAA, City of Chicago, et al.: Represented the United States Federal Aviation Administration in a lawsuit brought by pilots who alleged unlawful closing of local airport in violation of federal law.

United States v. Cole et al.: Obtained acquittal all twenty of the mail and wire fraud counts against a defendant who was the co-owner of a company that supplied electrical computer parts to Best Buy, Inc. accused of racketeering, mail and wire fraud, tax evasion and conspiracy, and obtained a sentence of probation on the tax evasion counts of which she was convicted involving over five million dollars of unpaid federal income taxes.

United States v. Jerry Genova, et al.: Obtained criminal conviction of suburban mayor and city prosecutor relating to complicated fraud/theft schemes and self-dealing in violation of federal law, including RICO.

United States v. Richardson Corporation et al.: Obtained dismissal of indictment, following federal court hearing, against corporate executive charged with corporate espionage and theft to corporate trade secrets, including purported provision of such secrets to publicly traded company which manufactured industrial use light bulbs and tubes.  The case was an offshoot of an anti-trust investigation into the publicly traded company which was represented by the former United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois.
